I’m Going on Vacation

Hey, y’all! I’ll be gone next week, searching for View from the Cloud stickers in Niagara Falls and meeting Kathy and her sister Ann and niece Regan in Toronto. Oh! And also vacationing with my lovely husband. I promise to bring you back some Canadian candy bars (no bacon) and some actual spray from Niagara Falls.
But first! Some announcements.

I’ve been given lots of cool awards in the last few weeks, and I intend to do it up right at some point, but for now, I’d like to thank everyone who was kind enough to share the shininess with me.

This isn’t an award so much as an awesome prize. Meg, at Prefers Her Fantasy Life ran a caption contest, and I won a lifelike Xena doll!
And. There’s one very special award I’d like to highlight, because it was created especially for me.
Yes, folks, it’s the Glass Poo award, designed by Babs from Beetle Blog. Why a Glass Poo award? Why not, I say. Actually, Babs made this in honor of my comment about my colonoscopy prep, the directions of which indicated that “you can stop drinking once your stools are clear.” I wondered if clear stools looked like glass, and: indeed they do! At least, according to Babs’s creative vision. Isn’t it beautiful? Who will I share THIS one with? (hint: no one.)

Have fun in Toronto! There’s so much to do. Wonder at Niagara Falls where coachloads of tourists are heard to mutter “It’s a lot smaller than it looks on TV…”
Then head to the Rogers Centre Sports Stadium to watch the back of a baseball fan’s head for three hours!
And look out for a scruffy homeless guy with no shirt on, wearing a Santa hat and shouting at buses. He’s like our local celebrity!

I just came back from vacation on Tuesday, and found out my site had been down for a week. I tried contacting my webhost and they finally got things working this morning.
Anyways, make certain to pick up some Smarties (I don’t know why Americans can’t get proper Smarties like they have in Canada, the UK, or even Africa).

I’ve told all my fellow countrymen to be on their best behaviour for your arrival. Don’t worry – you’re good. I’ve got your back …. wait! You didn’t bring that glass poo thing with you, did you? No worries – I got your back. eh.
Like I said in my Twitter… I’ll be surprised if you don’t find at least one, unless they find them first and clean them up before you get there. They’re only about 3/4″ long so you’ll have to keep you eye out. But I did leave plenty, and I only got busted once (fortunately not by the authorities but some dumb kid) – so I got lucky.
