I Make Announcements — About CATS

Lucky and Minnie have found a home!
“Spot” from What Passes for Sane on a Crazy Day has graciously and kindly and fantastically offered to take Lucky and Minnie into her home. Lucky and Minnie will join Spot’s four other rescue cats.
Spot, there is a special place in heaven for you. To offer to adopt two older cats — together — is such a beautiful act of kindness. You are an angel.
Thank you again to everyone who helped spread the word. You’re angels too!
Ahhh. Nothin’ like a Christmas miracle, is there?

We interrupt JD’s regularly scheduled blog post (the em-ar-eye post WILL be up tomorrow) to bring you this news:
Two Chicago-area cats, Lucky and Minnie, need your help.
Their owner is moving into a home with an allergic child and cannot take his beloved pets with him.
Minnie!
At about eight years old, Lucky and Minnie may not have a good chance of being adopted if they have to go live at a shelter.
Lucky!
According to the owner, Lucky and Minnie are loving, sweet, and snuggle together.
Blurry proof of snuggling!
If you would like two beautiful cats for Christmas—or know someone who would—please contact me at idothingATgmailDOTcom.
The owner is throwing in FREE food and litter for a YEAR plus a cash incentive.
Bloggers around the world are sharing the story of Lucky and Minnie!
Please consider helping to get the word out by Tweeting or Facebooking. Daisy’s post has been Stumbled, so why not give it a thumb’s up? Or Stumble this post? Whatever you can do will be much appreciated.
Tomorrow we will return to the usual porn, drugs, and nudism.

Oh I do hope someone takes them. I would love to but don’t live in the Chicago area and Duke would not adjust well to 2 cats in the house. I could see that turning out very badly

Awh I really want them. I just commented about adopting maybe one at my Aunt Kathy’s blog. But now that I see that they snuggle together I really want both.
But as I have already commented, my mom doesn’t want another cat. Or another two cats.
The owner should contact PAWS to see if they will take them – it’s a no-kill shelter, so they would have a great home there if there are no other takers. If I didn’t have a roommate I would totally take them – one cat is his limit and I’m already there. Good luck!
I’m in a similar boat. I have two much-loved cats and they are already plenty of trouble, which is about my husband’s limit. And I don’t live in Chicago.
But here’s hoping. I’ve always been able to find homes for my own cats so I’m doing my best hoping.

If they do not find homes, I will take them. Provided the owner will arrange to get them to Quincy. It’s a four hour drive to Chicago. My hubby will threaten to kill me as we already have 6 cats, but we had to put down two this year so we have room right?? All of our cats are rescue cats, except the kittens, who were happy accidents. And yes, I am quite possibly on my way to becoming the crazy cat lady…what of it??
All of our cats are well cared for and much loved. I don’t want to take them from someone who really really wants them…but as a last resort…I’m in.

This is so kind of you to help out, JD.
Minnie and Lucky are such beauties!
A few years ago my mother had to do the same thing, as my brother became very allergic. It broke her heart. However, she did find a great home.
I will stop by Daisy’s post and give it a thumbs up on Stumble.

A huge thank you to EVERYONE for chiming in and showing you care. It means so much to me and to the owner of Lucky and Minnie. You are the greatest!
I’m so glad it sounds like these cats will have a home! Our Moe was 8 years old when we got him from the shelter, so it does happen sometimes that older cats do get adopted, it is the exception though.

Harley and I are linking paws and purring our very, very best for Minnie and Lucky! My Mommeh says it is a very sad sight to see older, well-loved cats having to go into a shelter.

I stumbled Daisy’s post too. I wish I were closer but we have so many animals now and Sherpa is driving Stinky and Pumpkin up the wall – erm literally.
I hope they find a great home. It’s so sad the child is allergic. He or she will miss living with two loving kitties.
I am sending lots of positive goat thoughts!

Thank you, everyone! Purrs, paw-licking, positive goat thoughts, Stumbles, Twitters — all are so very much appreciated.
I’ve been sharing the blog links and comments with my friend whose boyfriend is the cats’ owner. She says:
OMG Julia!!! I can’t believe all the responses for Lucky and Minnie. I did see that [Spot's wonderfully generous offer] on your blog. I had to read it a few times to make sure I was seeing what I was seeing.
I’m going to show my boyfriend that when he gets here to see what he thinks.
It makes me so happy to see that there are still real good people out there. Got to love that!!!!!
Just wanted to share that with you and let you know how much she and her boyfriend appreciate all your help.
I . . . I . . .
I LOVE YOU!

You should go in the cat-giving-away business. I have two cats I like for you to find homes for — where should I mail them?
