Is it just me, or . . .
. . . is the Kobe Scowl suddenly not all that menacing?

I grant you greatness in ever finding any association between these two pictures and/or individuals.
Stephanie’s last blog post..For Aron: His Philosophy
Can we add a nice swoop of hair to Kobe and see?
Jenn Thorson’s last blog post..Aerobics for the Hopelessly Uncoordinated
That is like totally uncanny … I must say!
Canucklehead’s last blog post..Hair Today …
I second the motion to see a swoop of hair added.
dcr’s last blog post..The Twitter Collective
I’m with Stephanie. I bow to your mastery of relating those two faces. Kudos, I must say.
Kathy’s last blog post..A What’s That Winner
I think the secret to a real good Hard Look is all in the eyes. Both Kobe and Ed Grimley have a good snarl, but Ed does not have the mean eyes.
Daisy the Curly Cat’s last blog post..Monday Mystery: What is that?
I find the Ed Grimley snarl more freaky. Sure, Kobe has that athletic prowess to back up his physical threat but you can see it coming when he gets all riled up.
Ed’s eyes look like he is an unbalanced computer geek who spends most of his life in his mother’s basement plotting his moves in secret. After he buys his weapons on-line, who knows when he will snap and attack?
Say, that was a pretty cute observation. Well done!
Jeff’s last blog post..Ich habe Deutsche hier
I am thinking that that hair swirl looks like Jillian’s beard upside down.
Daisy gives a good “hard look.” She is a talented cat.
Pricilla’s last blog post..AbbyDay – My Last Post For a Bit
JD, I think you need to contact your crack legal team–you’ve been ripped off! Check out what I just saw on USATODAY.com:
http://blogs.usatoday.com/gameon/2009/06/kobe-bryant-as-ed-grimley-give-me-a-break.html
(Sorry for the long URL, but I don’t know how to use those URL-compacting thingies.)
They just totally stole your idea, I must say.
absepa’s last blog post..A Few Thoughts on My New Exercise Program
You are right! Although Daisy is right too. Kobe is trying to look mean.
Anne’s last blog post..The Weekend Adventure
Wow, that USA Today blog totally ripped you off! They probably thought no one would know and you wouldn’t find out. Crazy… but flattering, right? That’s how you know you have some real exposure on the internet!
I do not make acute observations, so I count on you to do it for me. Good job.
Ilana’s last blog post..Why Don’t We Go
I don’t exactly know who either of them is, but the other guy makes the scowl a lot less intimidating…
Regan’s last blog post..Girl Scout Cookies
funny i remember seeing him scowl like that on tv during the highlights and was wondering what that face was about.
i think those two pictures are the same person. it’s kind of like when michael jackson was black but now he’s not, but was left with an identifying mark, somewhere.
Stephanie: Thank you. So far it’s not necessarily a bankable talent.
Jenn Thorson: I’ll do it! Gimme a few hours . . .
Canucklehead: It’s so uncanny it’s almost mental.
dcr: Swoop coming up!
Kathy: Thank you. Now tell me how to make money doing it, and I’ll be thrilled.
Daisy the Curly Cat: Right! It’s all in the eyes. I have seen you make some good Hard Looks, Daisy. But I know you would never snarl.
David: I think you may have Ed Grimley pretty well sussed. At least, the grown-up Ed Grimley.
Jeff: Cute? Thank you! I try to make all my observations cute.
Pricilla: Yes, Daisy is a cat of many faces. Wait? Who’s Jillian?
absepa: Oh, HALE NAW! I left them a comment. AND called my crack legal team. At least I’m not the only one who sees it.
Anne: A very important distinction. Kobe is looking mean; Ed Grimley is just looking weird.
Mattress Encasements: You know they did! I guess it’s flattering. A shout-out would’ve been nice.
Ilana: Well, that’s what I’m here for. I make some pretty good obtuse observations too.
Regan: Yes. Ed Grimley is just a little bit strange. Kobe, on the other hand . . . well, he’s actually kind of strange too.
Natural: Do you really think they could be the same? I’m definitely going to have to add the hair swoop to the Kobe photo.
The magic dlost game two in overtime, and stunk up the joint in game one…
…They are as doomed as doomed could be, I must say!
C.B.Jones’s last blog post..Dangerous curves apparently too dangerous for some.
Kobe and Ed may have been separated at birth, but the worst part for me is Kobe’s nostrils. They totally freak me out.
Henitsirk’s last blog post..Southern California, May 2009
Ahahahaha! I think I fear Kobe, but not for the snarl; I despise basketball purely because of the awful “squeaking” noise their shoes make… freaks me out!!!
Maureen’s last blog post..The Hummer
C.B. Jones: Good to see so many Grimley fans here! The Kobe fans . . . I got nothin’.
Henitsirk: Oh, MAN! Now that you mention it . . . WOW. What is going ON there?
Maureen: HAHAHA! That’s a first. Now I’m going to be listening for that. Wait. Who am I kidding? I never watch basketball. But maybe the next time Dave watches, I’ll be listening.
Ahh man that hilarious… I love these type of comparisons… especially pets and their owners, I’ve seen some scary ones!
