Funny. I loved Quisp. I heard it was available in the Chicagoland area, too. Maybe I’ll try to pick some up on my next trip north.

My wife came home from the Food Lion (Chattanooga TN) yesterday with a box of Quisp. I went back and bought 2 more boxes. My kids love it and so do my wife and I. It is $2.99 a box. It said it was a “new item” so I hope it stays around. The cashier told me about 5 differnet people had purchased it that day alone. They can’t believe they have it.

That is what the cayenne is for…to counteract the sweet. No it is remarkably delicious.

Happy kitchen accident. The best things always are. Unless you like hot don’t have too heavy a hand with the cayenne…erm, we like it hot around here. heh heh

Pricilla: Thank you for the delicious-sounding Quisp tip. I’m afraid Dave would shoot me with his space gun if I tried to take his precious Quisp. But I might try that with Cap’n Crunch. It doesn’t taste weirdly sweet on the chicken?

Preston: I was 14 at the time of the big contest, but I don’t remember it all THAT well. My husband is 3 years younger (a big difference then), so it obviously made more of an impression on him.

I remember Quisp and Quake. After all, I was in my teens in the 70's. I ate them both but I wouldn't call it my favorite. Who knew they still made it? Did you know you can take your Quisp (or Cap'n Crunch for that matter) whap the crap out of it with a rolling pin, add some cayenne and put it on chicken, bake it in the oven and it is DELICIOUS?!
